Fun Times in Panama City!
So Micah and I have been down here in Panama City since Friday night and we're having a great time. It's kind of funny because we really haven't done that much worth mentioning, but we've just been hanging out and having a great time. I've discovered that it's not always warm enough in Florida to go to the beach, I am terrible at Wii Tennis, and that guys (including guests) aren't allowed to bowl at the Pensacola Christian College bowling alley if they are wearing shorts. Today we're going to go the beach even though it's still like 65 degrees outside, then we'll probably just come back and hang out some more, maybe shoot the potato gun, who knows? Anyway, I hope that everyone is having a good day, I'll post a better update later.
As Spring Break Approaches…
Wow, what a day yesterday was. Somehow I ended up having three major tests (one was a take home) in one day; under normal circumstance that might not be such an extraordinary occurrence, but it is for me considering that I only have three classes that give tests (I also have another 6 hours this semester, but 3 are for my thesis and 3 are an 8 week course that has not started yet). So my test average yesterday was 3 for 3, woo-hoo. Anyway, so that's enough about school.
Micah and I are going to be heading down to Florida on Friday for our very last Spring Break. A good friend of ours from freshman year lives down there now so we'll be crashing with him for a few days and just having a good time. Hopefully the weather will be warm enough to go the beach some, but if not, I' m sure we'll find something fun to do. Unfortunately I am planning on taking some work with me, my thesis is turning into a monster and I can't afford to take another week off, but it won't be too bad.
Well, I hope that everyone else is having a good semester. What are you going to be doing for Spring Break? (if you are so lucky to have one)
until next time...
A Great First Day of Skiing
Well I'm very glad to report that today was my first day on the slopes this year here in Breckenridge, CO; and it was fantastic! It snowed most of the day so visibility was down, but having the fresh powder on the ground made the slopes almost perfect.
Laura was able to come up for the weekend this year so that has made the trip extra good for me. I was a bit worried about how she might do on the slopes considering that she hasn't skied in almost eight years, but I was blown away by how well she did =)
Today was also special because we were able to meet up with some of my friends from Nashville, Jeff and Katherine Jones and their two kids Matthew and Mia. I've been telling Jeff and Katherine that they should visit Breckenridge for years now and so this year they decided to take a trip up here, but neither of us had any idea that they scheduled their trip on a weekend that would overlap my stay here. Once we realized
that we were going to be up here during the same weekend my step-mom, Carol, offered to watch their kids for them on Saturday so we could all go skiing together. After a good day of skiing we came back to the condo, played with Matthew and Mia, ate dinner and just hung out. Not a bad start for a vacation, I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
Pictures from PA trip…
Back at home, at least for a few days…
Hello everyone! Just thought I would give a little update on what's going on here in Nashvegas; most of last week was fairly uneventful but on Thursday Micah and I hit the road for a little weekend road trip to Pennsylvania. We were very pleased that the weather held itself back while we were driving. The weather reports on Wednesday were predicting doom and destruction for the entire weekend; well, as much as I appreciate the weatherman's efforts, I'm glad we didn't pay too much attention to him, because the weather was almost perfect.
On Thursday we drove up through Virginia to Eastern PA so that I could go to a job interview on Friday morning. I think the interview went well, but it was one of those situations where the company is less concerned with your skills as much as your personality. They figure if they can find people who will "fit" with their company culture, they can train them to do the job. So with that said, I have no idea if I will get offered a job. If they don't offer me a job I won't be upset or offended by it, I was honest with them and let them see who I am, but since they are the ones who understand their company's culture, it's up to them to make an honest assessment of how well I would fit with the company. Also, on that note, I would appreciate it if everyone would not ask me about it in the future, I know the questions are well intentioned, but if I get offered a job and choose to accept it I will post something on here about it, otherwise you can just assume that it didn't work out for some reason. It's just that if it doesn't work out, I don't want to get stuck having to explain it over and over again. It's like when you breakup with a girl and then everyone asks you, "So are you still dating ____?" and you have to say something trite like "We just decided to go our separate ways" or some other nonsense.
So after doing that on Friday morning, we hopped back in the SUV and headed to Grove City College in Grove City, PA (which is on the western side of the state about an hour out from Pittsburg). This is where Rochelle, Micah's girlfriend, is at school and so we went there so he could see her. Overall I had a fun time, certainly not as much fun as Micah had, but still a good weekend. We spent the weekend hanging out with Rochelle's roommate Kara and her boyfriend Dan (who's room we stayed in). This of course left me as the dangling 5th wheel all weekend, but the others were all very generous and did there best not to completely ignore me. On Sunday, we got an early start and made it back here to Nashville by 5:30, which made me happy because I was able to attend my church small group with Laura.
Well, now I'm back at home and trying to avoid doing homework. I've spent most of the day trying to coordinate schedules so for a recording project I'm doing for my Honors Thesis. I still haven't been able to get it completely worked out but I'm going to keep working on it.
I hope everyone is having a good week. Drop me a note about what you're up to. =)
Until next time...
